Celebrating Alumni

We are proud to share the success of former Wellacre student Sapper George Wise.

George left Wellacre in 2013 and following employment, he decided to join the Army.

Following three months of rigorous basic army training with the Waterloo troop, on 27th September 2019, George passed out from Pirbright Army Training camp with honours.

He was also selected to receive the Soldier’s Soldier Medal; an award voted for by his peers for upholding the Army’s core values during the rigorous and demanding training.

The values taught and upheld during basic training are courage, discipline, respect for others, integrity and selfless commitment.

These values underpin the professionalism of the armed forces worldwide and are central to all of the training at the Army Training Centre art Pirbright.

George is the son of Wellacre Cover Supervisor Sub Lt Wise, who is the Contingent Commander for Wellacre’s Royal Navy Combined Cadet Force Section, which upholds these core values in cadet training.

George will take on his new role in the Royal Engineers Regiment and we wish him all the best in his career in the military.
