Recognition for Wellacre’s Sport Ambassadors

Celebrating Student Leadership

Wellacre’s Year 8 and 9 Sport Ambassadors have received recognition for their excellent work this year.

Alongside Mr Whitehead, Teacher of PE, our Sport Ambassadors have supported the Trafford Primary School Games events and festivals.

The Trafford School Sports Partnership organise events for primary children in the community, which include Sportshall Athletics and Swimming, and secondary school Sport Ambassadors attend to help set up, coordinate and officiate at the events. 

Kay Statham, Trafford Lead for the partnership, has contacted Wellacre to show her appreciation for the boys’ efforts:

“At each and every event they have attended, the leaders have been very reliable and professional in their approach and I have seen them grow in confidence throughout the year. At the most recent event last week at Acre Hall every single Primary School who attended commented on how brilliant they were and asked me about the school in general. They are certainly a fantastic marketing tool for your school and I really appreciate the support they have provided this year. 

“I think it is fantastic that Wellacre invests so much time in developing these young people and wish that other schools could see how much the students get out of being involved.  I hope to continue working with you all next year.”

Mrs Sharrock, Principal, passed on this communication to parents to ensure they knew how well the Sport Ambassadors had done:  

“We are proud of our Sport Ambassadors and the work they do on our behalf.  Well done and thank you to all these wonderful students who give their time and energy in support of others. I hope they continue to thrive in leadership roles within and outside the school.”
