Mentoring Programme continues at Wellacre

Wellacre’s second cohort of the Inspired to Aspire mentoring programme, organised by the Salford Foundation, culminated with a trip to McDonald’s in Stretford.

During the Spring term, a cohort of Year 8 and 9 students worked with mentors Roisin Murphy, Recruitment Manager for McDonald’s NW and Susan Feeney, Hospitality Manager.

The focus of weekly mentoring sessions has been the world of work and the skills that the students will need in the future, including teamwork , time management, self-awareness and communication.

The programme culminated with an opportunity to visit their mentors’ place of work.  Students enjoyed a tour of the restaurant and offices, learnt more about the various job roles and workplace expectations of McDonald’s.

They also donned the McDonald’s hats and aprons to make their own breakfast in the restaurant kitchen, assisted by the professionals!
