WELLACRE celebrates YR11 success

In November WELLACRE held our annual Presentation Evening, welcoming back our previous YR11 students to celebrate their fantastic academic and educational achievement.

We regard Presentation Evening as an opportunity to acknowledge an important milestone in the lives of our students as they successfully progress beyond WELLACRE, either into further education or into employment.

It is also a wonderful way to refresh friendships, helping to strengthen our community further by highlighting our continued support for all our student leavers.

Proceedings were begun when Harry Quick, our new Head Boy gave his inaugural speech. Introducing himself as the newest member of a select group of WELLACRE prefects.

Next, Principal Wicks provided a strong focus of celebration and thanks for the evening through a rousing welcome speech. Elaine Johnson also provided a supportive and enthusiastic message to our students from our Governing body.

Finally, Rick Wadden - British road and track cyclist, inspirational athlete and two time silver medal winning Paralympian provided a lasting and uplifting message of overcoming personal challenges.

During the ceremony and to rapturous applause numerous of our YR11 leavers climbed the stairs to claim various awards, received for excellence in their chosen subjects.

Special thanks, awards, trophies and shields were then received by selected students for exceptional academic, educational and personal success.

Later in the evening and after receiving The Principal's Award outgoing Head Boy Cameron Lamont officially handed over to Harry Quick our current Head Boy. Warmly offering his advice, support and encouragement to our new YR11 student leader and his leadership team.

WELLACRE would like to thank all students, parents/carers, special guests, governors and staff who attended to wholeheartedly support our 2016 Presentation Evening.

Wishing GOOD LUCK to all our YR11 Leavers!
