Wellacre’s new Head Boy for 2018-19, Oliver, visited the pupils to personally deliver their £25 voucher prize.

The special prize draw celebrated Wellacre’s event, which welcomed pupils, parents and community members to the annual Open Evening.

Head Boy Oliver was appointed to lead the Year 11 Senior Prefect team for this academic year and has been busy with official responsibilities since September, including making speeches at Open Evening and Presentation Evening, heading up the Executive Council and overseeing lunch duties.

The team also includes Jabin as Senior Deputy Head Boy,  Lewis and Matthew as Deputy Head boys, and Adam, Conner, George, Sean and Natawin as Senior Prefects.

These successful students were appointed to the Senior Prefect team following an election campaign in the Summer term.  The students put themselves forward to represent the school and strengthen their educational community.

Each candidate filmed a manifesto, filled with ideas and exciting proposals to support the student body, which were shown to the whole school before voting opened for all staff and students.  Each candidate also completed an interview with Wellacre’s senior leadership team.

Principal, Miss Wicks, said:

“Congratulations to our Open Evening winners and thank you to Oliver for presenting the prizes and representing Wellacre magnificently in his first term as Head Boy.

“We are delighted to welcome the newly appointed Senior Prefect team; they are all positive role models who perfectly reflect the ethos of Wellacre and are effectively supporting both staff and students.”
