Bright Future for Wellacre Brothers

We are delighted to share the incredible success of the Thompson brothers, Jordan and Luke, who have excelled in the fields of sport and finance.

Jordan Thompson

Jordan, age 26, is an unbeaten cruiserweight boxer and travelled to Las Vegas recently with Tyson Fury’s team as part of his fight with Deontay Wilder.  Jordan sparred with Tyson to help him prepare to take to the ring.

As a child and prior to joining Wellacre, Jordan was an accomplished sportsman in athletics, sprinting and cross country (competed nationally), swimming (competed nationally), Lacrosse (competed nationally) cricket, basketball and soccer. He played for Macclesfield FC and was then scouted for Manchester City FC where he played for a year.

Jordan attended Wellacre and was in the first cohort of its then newly formed Sixth form. He studied his A levels whilst also completing the Advanced Apprenticeship of Sporting Excellence in Tennis. Jordan was No. 1 in Lancashire for Under 18’s in tennis. When he left school, he spent a year on the Men’s British Tour, competing in tennis all over the country.

Eventually, Jordan turned to boxing, starting out in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) aged 20, before moving to the traditional code.  He currently trains under Don Charles, a Pro Boxing Coach in Mill Hill, and works as a personal trainer in West London, building up a good clientele and fanbase.

Luke Thompson

Luke, age 23, has recently become a fully fledged ‘Wall Street Trader’ after passing his traders exam and working for one of the top finance companies in America.

With a similarly successful sporting background to Jordan, Luke competed in everything and then participated in tennis along with his brother.

He left Wellacre at 16 and went to South Trafford College to complete a BTEC Sport. His results qualified him to apply to American Universities and he gained a full scholarship in tennis at Hampton University in Virginia.

Luke gained many accolades during his time at Hampton including Student Athlete of the Year for 4 years running. He was also captain of the Men’s Tennis team.

After studying for 5 years, Luke gained a Degree and Masters in Business Administration and now works for one of the top finance companies, Cantor Fitzgerald on Wall Street.

“I would highly recommend applying to American Universities for scholarships if you have the right exam results and you are at the top of your game in sport!”
