Young Carers Action Day

On the 12th March 2025,  we recognised Young Carers Action Day with the theme ‘Give us a Break’. 

We held a brunch for all our Young Carers with  Mrs Birney, Mrs O’Neill and Mrs Sharrock. The event recognised the efforts of our Young Carers and the additional responsibilities they shoulder. The brunch also allowed for discussions around ensuring they are all aware of the  support  available in school and through Trafford and Salford Young Carers.

One of our young carers stated; "I enjoyed having the opportunity to take a break from school and to see others that are in the same position as me". This further instills a sense of resilience and bonding between our young carers as a group.’

Mrs Sharrock commented ‘ it is important to recognise the role of Young Carers and to create the space and opportunity for them to support each other.  Thank you to Mrs Birney for all her efforts to coordinate the support we offer.’
