Hospitality Takeover Day

In Spring Term 2, 14 Hospitality and Catering students in Year 10 went to the Kimpton Clock Tower Hotel for a Hospitality Takeover. There were over ten activities which all students had the opportunity to take part in, including: kingpin bowling, San Carlo pasta making and competitive bed making!

Students enjoyed the day and gained valuable knowledge about the sector in addition to leadership, time management and team building skills which gave them further insight into the hospitality industry. 

Oscar (Year 10) reflected on the trip saying, “I enjoyed the Hospitality and Catering Takeover Day as I got to experience lots of job roles such as bartending, which gave me ideas for future job roles”. 

Luke (Year 10) also stated, “I had a great time at the hospitality takeover day because I got to experience many activities and it opened up possibilities for jobs I could search for in the future”

Mrs Sharrock, Principal, commented ‘I just wanted to thank the Kimpton Tower Hotel for their kind invitation to our students and staff. They all had a fantastic time. It provided an opportunity which they all enjoyed and hopefully felt inspired by'. 

Abbie McKeever, HR Advisor at the Kimpton Tower said, ‘I’m so pleased that Wellacre students enjoyed their time with us all at Kimpton Clocktower. We had a wonderful time hosting the day and meeting everyone. Wellacre students were all a delight to be with and I hope they were able to take something away with them from the day'.
