On Saturday 21st February, the same night Tyson Fury took to the ring and won, Mason also competed at an amateur boxing show in Walkden!

During the show, Mason claimed the victory in his boxing fight at 46kg by a unanimous judges’ decision. His opponent was seven fights undefeated, until he faced Mason in the ring.

In the last couple of years, Mason has competed in five boxing shows.  After losing his first fight, he went on to win the next four.

“Boxing is a really good competitive sport; it’s good for my fitness, keeps me busy and is a great sport to learn discipline and respect.   I’m looking forward to turning 14 and can qualify for the North West Championships!”
