CCF Afloat Training

Last term, eight of our CCF cadets travelled to the Waterside Lodge in Southport for an afloat training day. The cadets went on canoes, paddling through the waters and testing their durability skills. 

The cadets were introduced to problem solving as they were tasked to build their own raft using a variety of materials such as rope, barrels and wooden poles. These exercises honed their teamwork and communication skills as they had to work together to build a sustainable raft. 

Joseph (Year 10) shared his experience by saying, “I really enjoyed being on the water, it was a great day with fantastic weather! I really enjoyed the canoes, especially when we had to switch boats. The problem solving task was a real challenge, but I learned alot about listening and making plans before acting on them”.
