Daniel designed and cooked a menu including: pan-fried chicken thighs with homemade tagliatelle and a creamy mustard sauce, followed by a melt-in-the-middle chocolate fondant pot.

Mrs Jones, Teacher of Food and Nutrition, said:

“Daniel’s menu looked and tasted fabulous!  He performed well on the day; we’re so proud that he came second in the competition.”

Springboard’s FutureChef is an industry resource aimed at young people aged 12-16, inspiring them to cook through classroom activities, challenges and competitions.  Each year, there is a competition held in participating schools with the winner qualifying for the regional final, held at Trafford College in Timperley.

Wellacre’s next Masterchef competition for Year 9 will be held later in the academic year and the winner will go through to the regional final in 2019!  Watch this space...
