WELLACRE Decides!

To coincide with the Summer General Election, WELLACRE has organised and ran our own election to help decide the new Head Boy for the upcoming academic year.

We wanted to empower each and every boy, of all year groups, with their own opportunity to vote, allowing them to be instrumental in the process of building and strengthening their educational community.

Each candidate who decided to run was asked to first research and then write their own manifesto, filling it with their ideas and exciting proposals to help direct and support the 2017/18 student body.

Election promotion has been ongoing since before half term with our candidates out on the campaign trail during Break and Lunch Times, holding conversations, answering questions and sharing their thoughts. Impactful posters have been designed and also appeared on the corridors of our school further helping to present our candidates individual messages.

Candidates were also required to film their manifesto and these short videos were shown to each year group before voting commenced during DEAR / form time.

Just as in the General Election our students were given their own Ballot paper to select in secret the candidate they wanted to vote for, with the results being collected by form tutors and collated by our Leadership Team.
