Staff at Wellacre are incredibly proud of all the students’ achievements in their results.  Students have shown great commitment and perseverance, and responded positively to the support from Wellacre’s wonderful staff.   They deserve all their successes and we are delighted to share some particular student highlights:

Oliver Williams, a former Urmston Primary school pupil, achieved an outstanding set of results including Grade 9 in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Physics, and Grade 8 in English Language and Maths.

Oliver said:

“I’m proud of everything I’ve achieved; I especially wanted the 9 in Computer Science so I’m really pleased about that as well as all my other grades.”

Oliver will join the Triple Award Technical Theatre course at Pendleton College and is looking forward to learning in the college’s on-site theatres as well as all the opportunities there will be to visit and train at theatres including The Lowry in Salford.  He was a knowledgeable member of Wellacre’s Lighting and Sound team for the school’s annual productions and Oliver is excited to pursue this career direction

Freddie Beddows joined Wellacre from St. Michael’s Primary and celebrated Grade 8 in English Language, Maths, Combined Science and Computer Science, a Distinction* in BTEC Music and Grade 7 in  English Literature and History.

Freddie said:

“My results are great and I’m really happy that I got what I wanted and needed to go on to my college course. I’m really proud of the 8 in English Language as I thought it was my weakest subject but I achieved a high grade!”

Freddie will study A Levels in Maths, Computer Science and Music at Xaverian College. Having always lived and gone to school locally, he is excited to move on to a new place with a new scene and new people!  His goal is to become a musical engineer; having performed in school as part of a band, he is looking forward to enjoying Music in college and following his dream.

Stanley Oram attended Davyhulme Primary, and will begin at Xaverian College studying A Levels in Film, Sociology and Politics, following his fantastic set of results. Stanley’s results included Grade 9 in Biology, Grade 8 in English Language, Maths, Computer Science and History, and Grade 7 in English Literature, Chemistry and Physics.

Stanley said:

“I’m really happy to achieve the grades I needed for college and I’m most proud of the grade in English Language because the paper was difficult and I worked hard to achieve the 8. I’m thankful to the teachers who have always been there to help and support me, especially through COVID.”

With his sights set on becoming a Director or Cinematographer, Stanley is most excited about starting the Film course at Xaverian.

Anthony said:

“I’m really pleased with all my 8s, it was important to me as I wanted all of those! I’m especially proud of my English results as I worked hard to achieve the grades I needed. I’m a bit nervous about the jump from GCSE work to A Levels but I will keep up the hard working mindset.  I’m up for it starting A Levels though at a new school and looking forward to it, especially the independence!”

Billy Robinson celebrated Grade 8 in English Language and Food and Nutrition, and Grade 7 in English Literature, History and Religious Education and will study A Levels in Biology, Government and Politics, and History at Loreto College.
