Year 8 Research Trip

Year 8 students enjoy a morning walk to experience local history.

Accompanied by our Humanities dept our students left Wellacre for a research trip to Irlam Locks, a feature on the historic Manchester Ship Canal.

Our students were guided through the history of this interesting site whilst walking along the River Irwell. By considering both their surroundings and local history our students were provided with a fantastic opportunity to bring their learning to life by exploring the ways in which the Industrial Revolution helped to create and form the communities they live in today.
