WELLACRE - Year 9 Success at the OGDEN Trust's Physics Olympics

Science Success!

WELLACRE Year 9 students attended the the OGDEN Trust's Physics Olympics held at Bolton School Boys Division. This is an annual event for year 9 learners to problem solve their way through a number of physics challenges such as building rockets, defying gravity or even building boats from paper.

WELLACRE fielded 2 teams, pitting themselves against 20 other teams.

Both teams performed admirably with Team 2 achieving 1 gold and 2 bronze medals. Team 1 achieved 3 silver medals and 1 bronze, coming in as overall winners for their consistency across all events.

In addition to their medals the boys were awarded a trophy and a personalised, signed copy of Professor Brian Cox's new book.
