Year 9 Students Level up in Cyber Game

Following on from success in the Cyber Discovery programme last year, Wellacre students have once again joined the programme.

Year 9 students have had the opportunity to join the HM Government’s national online programme as part of the Co-Curricular P6 timetable.

Students have completed stage one, Cyber Assess, acting as an agent for a virtual Cyber Protection Agency attempting to prevent criminal gangs using cyber skills to do damage online.

We were recently notified that many of our Cyber experts have successfully qualified for the next level of the programme - Cyber Game.  Well done and good luck to the following students:

Adam, Amir, Antony, Ben, Caiden, Cody, George, Josh, Leo, Shahmeer, Usman, Mason, Matthew, Nicky, Olive, Shah, Devran, Mohammed and Lewis

Mrs Lunn, Leader of Computing, said:

“This group have all demonstrated excellent programming skills and Cyber Discovery is putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test!  I look forward to seeing how our cyber gamers progress in the next level.”

The free Cyber Discovery programme for 13-18 year olds provides students with a taste of a career in cyber security and learn how experts play a vital role in protecting our hospitals, banks, army and police services.  It allows students to master technical computing skills and security concepts and to improve their digital skills.
