In October, Jamie won gold at the UK Northern Regional Championship and qualified for the UK National Championships in Sheffield on 17th November.

By competing in four different rounds of Kata and displaying a series of skilled moves and patterns, Jamie successfully took the title of UK National Champion in Kata!

Jamie said:

“It was nerve-wracking because of the size of the audience watching and the number of competitors.  My family and Sensei (instructor) were there to support and encourage me though and I was ecstatic when I heard I had won!”

Jamie’s national success is a culmination of five years training, hard work and commitment.   He is a member for the GKR (Go-Kan -Ryu) Club in Burnage and will be graded, in December, for the second black tip on his brown belt.

We wish him all the best; amazing work Jamie!
