Post-16 Careers Fair

 Exploring Career Paths

On 8th November, Wellacre welcomed Year 10 and 11 students alongside their families for Wellacre’s biannual Post 16 parent, carer and student Careers Fair.

There was an opportunity for students to explore a wide variety of career paths presented at the Career Fair and speak to providers in person. 

More than twenty establishments exhibited to provide an insightful perspective on future careers paths and opportunities in various fields. 

There were also a series of 20-minute workshops throughout the evening, hosted by Lauren Greigg-Williams from GMLPN on ‘Apprenticeships & T-Levels’, Tara Phillips from Altum HR Business Consultancy on ‘Recruitment Advice - Getting that job & Enhancing your CV’ and from GM  Higher on ‘ Life After Year 11.’

Mr Duffy, Year 11 Progress Leader: said:

“The Post-16 Careers Fair was very successful with a great turnout from 107 families. Feedback from parents and carers was overwhelmingly positive; they found the event extremely supportive and informative regarding their sons’ pathways for Post-16.  We hope students felt inspired by the event.” 

  

Year 11 Harry added: 

“I found the Careers Fair really helpful, especially talking to universities about my options in becoming a dentistry surgeon.”

Principal Mrs Sharrock said:
