As part of the Trafford School Sports Partnership (SSP), Wellacre Sport Ambassadors will attend primary competitions across Trafford to inspire, motivate, and lead primary school children.

The team of Year 8 and 9 students were pleased to attend their first event, the Trafford Year 3 Friendship festival.

The sport event focused on teamwork and communication skills with Sports Leaders from Wellacre engaging pupils in a range of fun team games.

Our Lady of the Rosary primary school said on Twitter:

“Thank you to the incredible sports leaders from Wellacre Academy that supported our Year 3 children. We even got a session delivered by one of our ex-pupils, Harry!”

The Trafford SSP said:

“Thanks for supporting the Trafford SSP to deliver a successful event at the start of this school year.  The support provided by Wellacre has been first class.

“The students who have been involved have been a credit to your school as well as an invaluable workforce that has allowed many hundreds of local primary aged children to participate in and benefit from high quality  festivals and competitions.”

The role of Wellacre’s Sport Ambassadors is to promote the benefits of sport in school, and to inspire other young people to get involved in sport in a wide range of settings within their local communities, including schools, clubs and community organisations.

Mrs Sharrock, Principal, was delighted to send commendation letters home to all the Sports Ambassadors in recognition of their efforts.
