Remembrance Day 2025

On Sunday 9th November 2025, Wellacre's CCF cadets proudly joined the Urmston community for the annual Remembrance Parade.

Twenty-five cadets marched alongside two ex-pupils, Oliver C and Bradley S, demonstrating the strong bond between past and present members of the Wellacre family.

The parade was led by Lieutenant Baker and Sub-Lieutenant Fryer, with Bradley carrying the Wellacre CCF banner to represent the contingent. A moment of solemnity came as Isaac B laid a wreath on behalf of Wellacre CCF, while Arthur M honoured the fallen by laying a wreath for the Trafford Navy Merchant organisation.

Two days later, on Tuesday 11th November, the cadets gathered once more, this time in front of the Wellacre flag pole, for a poignant act of remembrance. Under the guidance of SSI Ward, who served as Parade Marshall, the cadets observed a two-minute silence to reflect on the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in service.

The ceremony was marked by dignity and respect, with Lieutenant Baker, Sub-Lieutenant Fryer, and SSI Ward in attendance.
Joseph R took on the honour of leading the parade, bringing the cadets to attention and reading the Act of Remembrance, ensuring the words carried the weight of tradition and gratitude.

Together, these moments highlighted the cadets' commitment to service, respect, and remembrance, values that lie at the heart of Wellacre's CCF.
