Wellacre’s Christmas Celebration

Carol Concert at St. John’s

Wellacre invited students, staff and families for a Christmas celebration at our annual Carol Concert at St. John’s Church, Flixton on 11th December. 

The school choir welcomed the congregation for a festive evening of musical performances and readings.

As well as performing ‘We Three Kings,’ ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree,’ ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas,’ the choir invited the audience to sing along with carols including ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Silent Night.’ 

We heard beautiful piano solos from Liam, Yr 8, and Marshal, Year 11, and a flute performance by Louis, Year 11.  Billy, Year 10, also performed a brilliant version of John Lennon’s ‘Let it Be.’

Thanks to Head Boy Zane and Senior Prefect, Sam, Year 11, for delivering readings. 

The evening ended with everyone gathering for festive refreshments of hot drinks and mince pies in the church hall!

Mrs Sharrock, Principal, said:

“It was wonderful to welcome the school community for the Christmas celebration. All the boys who took to the stage appreciated the opportunity to perform in front of a warm and supportive audience.”
