Natural History Museum Gallery Feature

We are proud to announce that Wellacre has been featured at the Natural History Museum in the ‘Fixing our Broken Planet’ exhibition! The feature includes our Year 10 students, Conrad, Robert and Charlie at the RHS Tatton Flower Show Garden and the gallery has already been viewed by over half a million visitors. 

Our exhibition focuses on our work around biodiversity and pollination. Robert (Year 10) reflected on his experience by saying; "It was hard work but it has clearly paid off. I am very proud of us all for our achievement and I am looking forward to making a difference."

Mr Toogood led the project and commented; “The work the boys do in our Eco centre every week is fantastic and has been recognised. Representatives of the National Education Nature Park saw our garden at the RHS Tatton Flower Show and were so impressed they asked us to put a feature together for the Natural History Museum's upcoming exhibition. This is such kudos for both the boys and for our school to be featured at this prestigious and world-leading museum." 

We are thankful for all the support received from the community and  are excited to continue to showcase our efforts and awareness to help our environment, particularly as part of the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, all education settings in England are expected to have in place a designated sustainability lead and a Climate Action Plan by 2025. 

Mrs Sharrock, Principal said; ‘Mr Toogood and his team have worked really hard on this project. We take full advantage of the opportunities our Ecology Centre offers. Mr Toogood has already worked with us to identify the school’s priorities, navigate available resources, and embed sustainability practices in line with DfE guidance. We have recently received reaccreditation of the Green Flag Award. Well done to everyone involved.’
