Posted at 9:30 am on 5th June, 2017

Year 7 to 10 Council representatives

Executive Council members from Years 7 to 10 attended their termly Executive Council meeting.

This was the first meeting planned without Harry Quick, the outgoing Wellacre HeadBoy and his Prefect Team, providing a valuable opportunity for our council members to take further ownership of their own roles, agenda and personal leadership growth.

Our council representatives used their time to discuss the various issues directly affecting or impacting upon their particular year group. Their conversation led to a number of proposals, helping to decide upon and develop a range of solutions for our wider student body. These were recorded and will be presented to Ms. Wicks, Principal, for further discussion.

Conversation also centred around behaviour within school and pastoral care, both of which our students were extremely pleased with. A consensus was agreed between year groups with our students feeling well supported at all times.

Council members also reported that students were very pleased with the wider choice of activities to take part in during our Summer Activity Week at the end of term, a direct result of a previous Council proposal.

The meeting was concluded with thanks to Ms. Wicks for providing continued support for the Executive Council with each member expressing a growing sense of pride and empowerment through their ability to effect positive change for fellow students.
