Wellacre Glee Club

CLUB Description

Wellacre Glee Club is an informal choir. You don’t have to be a good singer, and you don’t need any musical knowledge. You just need to have enthusiasm to join in and practise singing a mixture of pop and musical tunes. This is mainly just for fun, however we will work towards putting on a short performance towards the end of the school year. The Glee club will begin in January, after the main school production ends.

Wellacre Pals - History Club

CLUB Description

In the First World War, friends often ‘joined up’ together to be soldiers in so-called ‘Pals Battalions’. In honour of this, History enthusiasts at Wellacre meet together as a friendly, informal group to learn a little extra about important historical topics, especially in relation to the twentieth century world wars. We often complete research, handle artefacts, sometimes watch video clips, but mainly just talk history! The Wellacre Pals are the first to be offered extra-curricular History trips and opportunities.

#Biz-Club

Young Enterprise

Under the Wellacre Enterprise Company Programme students find out what it’s really like to set up and run a business.

Delivered across an academic year, students make all the decisions about their company, from raising the initial share capital through to designing their product or service to selling directly to customers and ultimately winding up the company and paying their taxes. All this takes place with the support of a Business Adviser who brings a wealth of business knowledge and expertise to the team.

Students can also choose to set up their business as a social enterprise, which focuses on addressing a social need rather than maximising profit. From cakes to bird boxes to glow in the dark headphones there are many opportunities for students to develop their sales skills!
