Cardio training sessions with Courtney Fry

Courtney Fry started boxing at the age of 15 when he was introduced to the sport by his father, who recognised the need to channel Courtney’s excess energy. He went on to qualify for the Sydney Olympics and enjoy a successful professional boxing career.

Courtney works now as an Athlete Mentor for Sky Sports Living for Sport, where he provides his wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to help young people develop themselves and life skills further.

Mr. M Thomson, Teacher of PE invented Courtney to WELLACRE to work with our Yr9 students. Our students paired off, helping each other to focus during during a morning session of mitt work, speed and cardio training.

“My experience as a mentor has taught me how sport really can engage young people and motivate them to make changes in their lives. I look forward to building a rapport with the students I meet and sharing my story with them.”

All of our students ended the session exhausted but extremely enthusiastic to use and continue building upon their new team skills!
