TRAIN LIKE A PRO, LIVE LIKE A PRO

Whilst studying a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Our scholars also complete full time training and compete in the English Colleges North West League, benefiting hugely from playing their home games at Trafford’s excellent Shawe View Stadium.

With Trafford FC keen to promote and support youth football our partnership programme has achieved not only high academic results – better than the National Average in education, but has also seen significant progress within the game.

Nick Haughton was the first Scholar to be selected for the English Schools Representative side and is now in his second season as a Professional, playing for Fleetwood Town.
Rob Black was also selected for the English Schools Representative side and this season Aaron Smith has made the full squad.

A number of Scholars have also played in the Northern Football League after selection for the Trafford FC First Team squad. These have included; Rob Black, Clevon Beadle, Josh Reed, Olly Riley, Aaron Smith and Ben Woods.

In addition, many other Boys who have completed our two year programme now play at Semi-Professional level and others have progressed to take up further Scholarships in the USA.

For any Boy with an interest in Football who wants to progress their ability in readiness for Adult Football, our course here at Wellacre is ideal. We structure the week and training to give them a flavour of what full time football is all about and its pleasing to see so many go on and do so well in their careers no matter what level they attain.”
