What is STEM? Within the Academy's curriculum STEM activities explore the connections between the contributing school subjects science, design & technology and mathematics (STEM) with special reference to those sorts of activities that might be termed engineering or have a strong engineering component. Wellacre Academy actively promotes learning opportunities across the range of STEM subjects.

BSKC success again!

On Monday 6th February our two Go Karting teams qualified, 1st & 3rd for the regional finals of the British School Karting competition. Congratulations to those involved! We now look forward to success at the regional finals at 3 Sisters track in Wigan.

STEGTA support our Year 9 learners on Super Learning Day 3

 On SLD3 we welcomed the team from STEGTA who provided some fantastic workshops for our Year 9 learners. The boys will shortly being taking their GCSE options and had the chance to learn about the opportunities engineering as a career provides as well as participate in some hands on activities including robotics, measurement and instrumentation and preparing and machining with a milling machine and lathe.
