Another Outstanding GCSE Success
Wellacre Technology College celebrates 11 consecutive years of improved GCSE results.
For the eleventh consecutive year, Wellacre has achieved their best ever GCSE results, with 85% of pupils achieving 5+A*-C grades and 100% of pupils achieving 5+ A*-G grades.
The headteacher of the school, Mr Raymond Howell, said: "What another fantastic year of achievement for the college, our improved GCSE performance for the eleventh consecutive year is a tribute to the dedication and hard work of all our pupils and staff. We look forward to building on this years success with work now started on our £7.1 million co-educational 6th Form which opens in September 2009."
Sixth Form Breaks Ground
This week has seen work begin on the schools £ 7.1 million Post-16 centre. Over the next 12 months a state of the art facility will be built for a 300 place co-educational 6th Form to open September 2009. Wellacre Teams up with Envirostudents

A group of year 9 boys from Wellacre Technology College have been selected by their teachers to take part in a series of contemporary dance workshops within school. These workshops have been organised by Linda Coles Dance coordinator for Trafford Borough Council and have been led by professional dancer, Junior Cunningham.
Wellacre has enjoyed another fantastic year of sporting achievement both in competitive fixtures and in-school activities. Recent visitors to the school cannot fail to have been impressed by our new trophy display cabinets in our refurbished reception area, which are brimming with a vast array of silverware from a variety of sporting disciplines.
In January Jeff Rich former drummer with Status Quo for over 16 years was in school to deliver a drum and percussion workshop for nearly 250 boys with representatives from all year groups.

Wellacre’s eargerly awaited annual school production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ was a huge success performing to sell-out audiences who were stunned by the high calibre performance and top quality production values on display.
