Lowest Ever Temperatures on Record at Wellacre!
The start of the new year has brought with it some of the most inclement weather not witnessed in years! The lowest ever temperature recorded by our weatherstation at Wellacre was at 06:30am on 8th January, when the temperature plummeted to an astonishing -13.59 degrees celsius!
Wellacre will be open again on Monday 11th January. My sincere thanks go to our site team who have worked hard shifting tons of snow from the school site. Today we have been able to accelerate the clearing of the snow with the assistance of a JCB.
There is a still a large amount of snow and ice on the site so I would ask that all students take care moving around when they arrive on Monday.
We have enough grit to create safe walkways around the school site but much of the ground remains extremely hazardous. We would recommend that pupils do not cycle to school until road conditions have improved.
Please keep checking the school website for any changes to these arrangements.
A reminder that we have the following external examinations taking place next week,
Monday 11th January Maths AS level - Year 12: 9.00am Construction Diploma- Years 10 & 11: 1.15pm
Tuesday 12th January Science AS level- Year 12: 9.00am
All of these examinations will take place in the 6th Form building which is more easily accessible.

Eco School Award
As Wellacre continues to expand at pace, new state of the art facilities are transforming the school environment. We have recently had the opening of our new sixth form complex and early 2010 will see the completion of our Ecology Centre.
